According to the International Data Corporation's (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, smartphone shipments in India jumped 21.4% in the July-September quarter this year to 28.3 million units, buoyed by a three-fold jump in demand for 4G-enabled devices.
In the third quarter of 2015, 28.3 million smartphones were shipped to India - up from 23.3 million units for the same period last year. The total handset market (feature phones and smartphones) grew about 2% to 73.8 million units in the third quarter of 2015 from 72.4 million units a year ago.
